Ayurveda, Prana & Coffee

Have you ever thought how much life the coffee that you drink has?

No, this is not an “out there” question. 🙂 According to Ayurveda (and quantum physics as well) everything that we put in our body and in our mind for that matter, has some form of energy, or life force. The Sanskrit word is prāṇa.

Unfortunately, the processing that our food undergoes these days, depletes it from most of its prana. More often than not, by the time the food gets to our table, it has little energy left.

Have you ever wondered why food that your grandma used to make or food in remote villages tasted so good? It was infused with good energy, or prana.

The good news is that there is still hope! There are ways to bring back life-rich foods. And yes, this applies to our daily sensible indulgence, coffee.

The Ayurvedic benefits of good coffee in moderation are manifold. Anywhere from protection against cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, risk of dementia, to immune-boosting properties. And for any one with mental Vata in excess, Ayurveda recommends adding a little bit of cardamom to the coffee.

Now, the question remains “what is good coffee“?

The only way to bring back life into your coffee is by roasting green coffee beans and using the roasted coffee beans within 1-2 weeks.

There are several home coffee roasting methods, using anywhere from a hot-air corn popper to barrel style retro roasters.

The technique that is on this video is what we use ourselves and something that you can do almost anywhere and with the minimal amount of gear.

This is what you will need

You will not know how great prana-infused coffee tastes until you make it yourself!
