Unanswered Prayers

unanswered prayers

Have you ever heard some one tell you, be careful what you wish for? At first it may have sounded like a superstitious folk saying. However, its origin may be deeply embedded into the undeniable human condition. The Upanishads, one of the oldest texts known, say that

You are what your deep, driving desire is.
As your desire is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.

Those of you who like country music, recognize that there is quite a bit of wisdom behind the lyrics in one of Garth Brook’s songs: Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.

The following is a 40-second Sound Byte from Episode 040, released last week, where we are discussing desires and some other hot topics.
